Privacy Policy

Overview
CookingConvert.io ("we", "us", "our") is a static website that provides free kitchen unit conversion tools. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and how you can control it.
All conversions on this site happen entirely in your browser. We do not transmit your conversion inputs or results to any server.
Data We Collect
We collect data in two ways, both subject to your consent:
Google Analytics (GA4)
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use our site. This service collects:
- Pages visited and time spent on each page
- Referring websites and search terms
- General geographic location (country/city level — not precise location)
- Device type, operating system, and browser
- Aggregated interaction events (e.g. conversions performed, tips viewed)
This data is collected only if you accept cookies. Google Analytics data is processed by Google LLC. For more information, see Google's Privacy Policy. You can opt out at any time using Google's Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
Google AdSense
We display advertisements provided by Google AdSense. Google may use cookies and device identifiers to serve ads personalised to your interests based on your activity on this and other websites. You can manage your ad personalisation settings at Google Ad Settings.
AdSense ads are loaded regardless of cookie consent, as Google's own consent framework manages ad personalisation. Non-personalised ads are served if you have not consented.
Cookies & Local Storage
We use the following storage mechanisms:
- cookieConsent (localStorage) — stores your cookie consent decision ("true" or "false"). This is essential for remembering your preference.
- Google Analytics cookies — set only with your consent. These include
_ga,_ga_*, and related cookies used to distinguish users and sessions. They persist for up to 2 years. - Google AdSense cookies — set by Google for ad delivery and frequency capping.
You can clear cookies and localStorage at any time via your browser settings. Our cookie consent banner will reappear on your next visit.
Your Rights (GDPR)
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA) or United Kingdom, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Right of access — you may request a copy of any personal data we hold about you.
- Right to erasure — you may request deletion of your personal data.
- Right to restrict processing — you may ask us to limit how we use your data.
- Right to object — you may object to processing based on our legitimate interests.
- Right to withdraw consent — you may withdraw consent at any time by clicking "Decline" in our cookie banner or clearing your browser's localStorage.
Because we collect no personal data directly — only aggregate analytics via Google — most of these rights are best exercised directly with Google. To exercise any right, contact us and we will assist within 30 days.
Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services:
- Google Analytics — analytics (google.com/analytics)
- Google AdSense — advertising (google.com/adsense)
- Google Fonts — we do not use hosted Google Fonts; all fonts are
self-hosted via CSS
@importfrom Google Fonts CDN at page load.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with any other third parties.
Children's Privacy
This site is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the site after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
